Pilanesberg Educational Tour

A 3 day tour to the Pilanesberg area for BESA Leadership Academy in Johannesburg. There were 32 Grade 8-11 students with 2 teachers and an All Africa Tours tourist guide on the 60 seater semi luxury bus. This tour was from 15 – 17 September 2021.

DAY 1: Pick up at school early morning and depart for an educational tour at  Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre, who involved in the preservation and protection of wild dogs and cheetahs. The centre has bred over eight hundred cheetah cubs to put back into the wild. They also showcase the rare King Cheetah. Enjoy snacks en route to Rustenburg/Waterval area and settle into a game farm accommodation. Afternoon to explore the exquisite scenery and enjoy the swimming pool. Evening camp fire under the stars.

DAY 2: Depart after breakfast for Pilanesberg National Park situated in a crater that is in an ecologically rich transition zone between the Kalahari and the Loweveld. Here you meet your qualified nature guide with an open safari vehicle for a 2-3 hour morning game drive to learn about the animals of the savanna. Enjoy a packed lunch in the park before an afternoon visit to Predator World for an educational tour and great comparison of animals in enclosures vs animals free roaming.

DAY 3: Depart after breakfast for Magaliesberg Canopy Tour of 10 ziplines over some of the world’s oldest mountains and gorges. Return to school after lunch with memories for a life time.
