Itinerary for : Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland

 

VeniceDay 1: Flight to Venice

Day 2: ITALY, Venice – water taxi, gondola ride, St Mark’s Basilica, elevator ride up Campanile, Doge’s Palace, Piazzo San Marco, Rialto Food Market. Accommodation: apartment in San Marco

Day 3: Venice – trip to Burano island to see brightly coloured houses and lace making, lace museum and famous Trattoria al Gatto Nero da Ruggero restaurant, trip to Murano island – home of Glass blowers

CroatiaDay 4: Pick up car at Marco Polo Airport and leave Venice for Opatija CROATIA – St Vitus’ Church for Baroque architecture, Mosecenicka Draga waterways. Accommodation: villa in Opatija

Day 5: Rijeka to Zadar –  wander around the old town, great food and wine bars. Accommodation:  Apartments  in Zadar

Day 6: Zadar to Split to start Dalmatian Coast Cruise at 12:00

Day 7 – 15 : CRUISE to Dubrovnik and back visiting a different island each day.Dubrovnik

Day 15: Split to Plitvicka Jezera. Accommodation: Apartments 5km from the lakes

Day 16: Plitvicka National Park – 16 crystal lakes and waterfalls

Day 17: Plitvicka to Zagreb. Accommodation: Apartment near the old cityPlitvice

ZagrebDay 18 + 19: Zagreb – Visit the Gothic Cathedral, Tolkien’s House, bakeries, flower market, walk the ancient city, listen to street artists and musicians, drink coffee and wine

Day 20: Zagreb to Budapest HUNGARY. Accommodation: Apartment in city centre

Day 21 + 22: Budapest – Szentendre ( 18th century town – cobble alleyways and impressive architecture),Buda Castle, Faust Wine Cellar, Chain Bridge, Opera house, orchestrabudapest baths, walking tour, resistance museum, Danube Curve

Day 23 : Budapest to Vienna AUSTRIA – ride in a street car, Hofburg Imperial palace, St Stephen’s Cathedral, Spanish riding School to see Lipizzan horses, Kunsthistorisches Museum of Fine Arts, Mariahilferstrasse for fashion houses, see a opera at the State Opera House Accommodation: Hostel

Day 24: Vienna to Munich GERMANY – visit Hofbrauhaus for authentic German beer, go to Marienplatz public square, BMW Welt museum of BMW cars. Accommodation: Hostel

Porsche MuseumDay 25: Munich to Stuttgart. Accommodation : Apartment

Day 26 + 27: Stuttgart – visit Mercedes-Benz Museum, Schlossplatz (Palace Square), Porsche Museum, Kunstmuseum and State Gallery of Stuttgart, Koenigstrasse for shopping, Oberturkheim – Uhlback – Rotenberg – unterturkheim Weinwanderweg (wine walking route), climb the Birkenkopf, Pig Museum

Day 28: Stuttgart to Lindau SWITZERLAND. Accommodation: Hotel

Lake Como

Day 29: Lindau to Gravedona, Lake Coma ITALY. Accommodation: Hotel

MilanDay 30 + 31: Milan – Visit the Duomo (take elevator to roof top for great views), Santa Maria delle Grazie to see Da Vinci’s Last Supper, Galleria Vittorio Emananuele ll mall, taste ossobuco and risotto alla milanese, La Scala Museum of Opera, window shop for fashion in the Quadrilatero d’Oro, art museum Pinacoteca di Brera, eat Panzerotto from Luini, walk along the canals. Accommodation : Hotel

Day 32: Milan to Verona . Accommodation: B&B  in Custoza

Day 33: Verona – Romeo and Juliet country, Lake Garda, trip to Bolzano past alpine villages

Day 34: Verona to Venice, Marco Polo Airport for flight home

Day 35: Home
